Hanuman Sadhanas - Maagh Poornima and Kumbha Sankranti

Hanuman Sadhanas - Maagh Poornima and Kumbha Sankranti

The confluence of Maagh Poornima and Kumbha Sankranti provides an excellent opportunity to perform Sadhanas of Hanuman. There is no other opportunity better than this to transform your current situation.

Because Hanuman can change your planetary Dasha and also your Karmic balance with a quick move of His tail. That is the power and blessing He holds. Blessings from Devi and from the Navagrahas (nine planets).

How to find the dates and time for your location:
Click here on this link and select your location. For India it is on 12th Feb. But if you reside outside India then you will need to check the Panchang accordingly.

What rules to follow:
1. It's important to take a moment for yourself before your Sadhanas. Enjoy a refreshing bath or shower and put on clean, fresh clothes to help you feel centered and ready.

2. Remember, Brahmacharya (celibacy) is not something you have to force upon yourself. It’s more about an individual realization that can come with time. If you are holding onto energy and aren’t sure how to channel it, try to reflect on what you might do with it. In Yoga and Tantra, there are indeed various methods to guide and elevate that energy (like Viparīta-karaṇī, Vajroli, Sahayoli, etc.). However, these might not be necessary for non-Yogis and householders. So please, don’t carry guilt around celibacy. If you can practice it, that’s wonderful; if not, it’s completely okay to let it go.

3. Your food preferences shouldn’t create stress for you, especially at the early stages of your Sadhanas. While certain restrictions, such as avoiding meat and garlic, may be necessary later on, don’t feel pressured to impose these on yourself until you reach that deeper understanding. Trust that awareness will come to you in due time.

4. During these 41 days, I encourage you to be gentle with yourself and try to avoid gluttony or excessive self-indulgence. This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy life; just be mindful of not getting caught up in overindulgence in food, pleasure, or self-gratification. It’s natural to treat yourself occasionally, but keeping your Sadhana in mind can help maintain balance. There’s no need for guilt or fear here—just a gentle reminder to stay self-aware.

5. If you are feeling comfortable and healthy during your cycles, it’s okay to continue your chanting and Sadhanas. However, it’s vital to listen to your body—don’t push yourself to do anything that feels burdensome, especially during a time when you may be experiencing discomfort or emotional changes. Many women have to navigate pain and cramps, and it’s completely understandable that you may need to take a break from chanting and sitting straight for long periods.

Taking rest is more about recognizing your own health than any notions of impurity or cleanliness. If your cycle coincides with your Sadhanas, feel free to pause. For instance, if your cycle begins on the 21st day of chanting, you can simply rest for 5 days and then pick up from the 22nd day onward. It’s important to know that scriptures offer women this flexibility. Many remarkable female Rishis, known as Rishikas, have successfully engaged in deep tapas and Sadhanas while embracing their unique journeys. Remember, you are not alone in this, and it’s perfectly okay to honor where you are.

What to offer to Hanuman:

1. If you have the opportunity, lighting a lamp or diya and offering Dhoopa can be a beautiful way to connect with your practice. Ideally, using Til (Sesame) oil for the lamp can enhance the experience, but if Palm oil, rice bran oil, or mineral oils are what you have, that's perfectly okay but better to avoid these. If you're traveling or don’t have these items with you, offering your intentions mentally can be just as meaningful.

2. Remember, the essence of this practice and Sadhana is rooted in your devotion, not the specific ingredients you use. The act of chanting holds far greater significance than what you offer. Focus on chanting and the intensity.

3. If you are traveling or some emergency comes up, simply take a quiet spot wherever possible and chant. Will not take more than five minutes. Life can sometimes throw unexpected situations your way, and that’s completely understandable. If you find yourself in a rush, find a quiet moment wherever you can, and just chant. It only takes a few minutes, but it can be deeply fulfilling.

4. It's important to approach this with a heartfelt mindset. This isn't a checklist to tick off; it's about feeling the connection. Chanting is a wonderful way to express your emotions and connect with Hanuman on a deeper level. Approach it with devotion and faith, and you'll find that meaningful connection.

Sir,
While I have started the 41 day sankalp to recite Hanuman Vadvanal stotra, I am not very happy with the pronounciation. I tried to follow your recitation and found it a bit fast. Also it is a bit difficult to get the pronounciation correct from the english and sanskrit version. Can I get a copy of the slides that appear with your recitation to get each words correctly. Last thing we need is pronounce the words incorrectly and yield no or negative results.

Can we start from Saturday tomorrow

I request you to please shed some light on the Yantrodharaka stotra. Its different on youtube from what you have given in your book (named Vibhishan kruta hanuman stotra). If you could please share it with the pronunciation it would be of great help.
Thanks in advance
